Wounded Warriors

As a church we were invited to provide breakfast for a group of wounded warriors who were traveling across Texas on bicycles in order to bring awareness to the Wounded Warrior Program and to raise money for the cause.  What an incredible experience.  Think you have a few problems in your life?  Well, hang out with a few of these ladies and gentleman and I believe you will walk away with a different perspective on life as a whole.

Randy made a poster in their honor.

As did Ella, Caleb's friend.

The drive-way was lined with flags showing support to the bicyclists and to our country.

After they arrived they went around shaking hands with all those who had attended.

A bike or two needed repairs and so a bicycle repairman was called onto the scene to get their equipment back into operating order.

Randy and Ella presented their posters to the group.

This is Charlie.  We don't know his whole story, but what we do know is enough to bring tears to your eyes.  When they are going up hill, the orange and yellow stick connected to his bike is used by other bicyclists to help push him up the hill.  Talk about team work.  Wow....

And here they are getting back on the road.  I believe there were 26 cyclists all together.   We cannot wait to participate in next years event.  It would be awesome to have more of the town out there to support this amazing group of individuals....

A Cup in His Name,

Pam
